In the field of tribology, many applications operate in elastohydrodynamic lubrication (EHL) regime e.g., automotive engines, gears and rolling element bearings. EHL hydrodynamic performances are significantly enhanced by contact bodies elastic deformations lubricant piezoviscosity. IssyOsborne is a procedure package for Igor Pro designed to be used researchers tribology fluid mechanics. It allows easily calculate film thickness distribution lubricated sliding under time-varying conditions. This calculation performed given conditions, properties properties. can deceleration, acceleration reciprocating motions. algorithm, full-analytical resolution Reynolds equation was derived. Validated experimentally, analytical equations perfectly modeled mechanisms behind formation, such as squeeze due transient evolution over time, asymmetry hysteresis distribution.
